In this video, two RC race cars—a high-end $2,000 Team Associated B7 and a budget-friendly $400 Yokomo RO1.0—are put head-to-head on the track to compare performance. While the B7 features premium materials like carbon fiber, aluminum, and titanium, along with fully customizable electronics, the Yokomo comes ready-to-run with brushless power and solid components. Surprisingly, once equipped with proper tires, the $400 Yokomo was only 3.7% slower per lap than the B7. The test also highlighted that driver skill can outweigh equipment cost, although cheaper components can be more prone to failure under stress. The takeaway? A well-priced RC car can still deliver competitive performance and a great racing experience, especially for beginners.
